History

Sentron AG was founded in 1993 by Dr. R. Popovic, a former vice-president of Central R&D Lab, Landys&Gyr Co., and later a professor of Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL). Prof. Popovic was managing director of the company from 1993 to 2003.

Manufacturing of unique magnetic sensors, probes and magnetic measurement instruments were Sentron's activities in an early stage together with R&D for innovative magetic sensor applications (e.g. magnetic barcode reader for banknotes).

Constant Innovation

Research activities with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology EPFL in Lausanne and steady development of new measurement principles, new sensors and new technologies helped Sentron to stay at the edge of todays magnetic and contacless sensor technology.

Sentron - a Melexis company

In February 2004 Sentron has been taken over by Melexis, a leading Hall sensor manufacturer for the automotive market, with the main focus on transferring the Sentron Technology into the automotive and high volume environment. People will be able to benefit from Sentron's innovations in their future cars.
